The mission of Freedom Classical Athletics is to support students-athletes in the achievement of the school motto, "knowledge- freedom- leadership" through sports. This is done with the help of strong coaches who have the drive and willingness to be there for their athletes as well as a support system of teachers, families, and administration who encourage our athletes to step into their leadership roles.

      Please sign where appropriate.

The following are requirements for ALL student-athletes and their families.

      1. Once your student-athlete is rostered on a team, practice is required. Please do not take a spot from another athlete who is willing to be at ALL practices. Not showing up to practice may result in less game play. We know that sometimes there are legitimate reasons why a player may have to miss a practice. In this situation, always let your coach know in advance when you have to miss a practice. Our coaches do not know if you were absent from school.
      2. Players must me picked up from practice on time. Please be courteous of the coaches and administration's time. If players are picked up late repeatedly they may be asked to leave the team.
      3. Student-athletes represent Freedom Classical Academy at all times, good conduct is a must! Cheating, bullying, name calling, and fighting will not be tolerated. As leaders, student-athletes should be an example of teamwork and positivity. Students are required to follow the Freedom Classical Academy's Code of Conduct as stated in the Student Handbook. Failure to comply may result in suspension of eligibility to play or dismissal from the team. It will be to the discretion of the Dean of Students and Athletic Director, along with the consultation of the Head Coach.
      4.
      5. Families and athletes must show respect for coaches, players, and officials. Communication with coaches is important. However, we know that sometimes, especially after a game, we may want to approach a coach. Please wait 24 hours after any game to ask the coach about game time decisions. DO NOT approach the coach during the game. DO NOT coach your child during the game. Let the coach be the leader. Also remember that the athletes are developing and deserve support. Remember to cheer for everyone on the team. Be careful to not demean the opposing team or the officials. The NCSAA is very serious about enforcing rules against this. We can be forced to forfeit a game due to inappropriate spectator behavior.
      6. Please be courteous and positive when posting on social media. Cyberbullying of teammates, opposing teams, or coaches will not be tolerated. Social media is not the place to vent frustrations about the team, a game, or players.
      7. How to resolve issues within the team. Parents are encouraged to first try to resolve issues by meeting with the coach. If you feel the issue is not resolved, then you may set up a meeting with the Athletic Director (Kate Christensen). If you are still unsatisfied a meeting can be set up with the Dean of Students (Shelly Kloos). If after this, you still feel a satisfactory agreement has not been reached a meeting with the Executive Director (Jeremy Christensen) may be called. This chain of events must be followed first before any action can be taken.

The following are requirements for student-athletes and their families who participate on COMPETITIVE Teams.

      1. Understand that in Competitive Teams- Playing time is EARNED. Do not expect equal playing time. All game time decisions are at the coach's discretion. Our Competitive Teams are focused on winning, while our younger recreational teams are focused only on development and learning game play.
      2. Know that Grades come first. Grade checks will be done bi-weekly and students may be put on academic probation (loss of practice time and game time) due to failing grades.

For our competitive teams student-athletes may receive demerits. If a student-athlete receives 5 demerits in one season they are no longer eligible to play that season. The following lists ways in which a player may receive a demerit. Demerits are given by the coach and certified by the Athletic Director.

      1. Failure to let your coach know that you are missing practice.
      2. Being picked up from practice more that 10 minutes late.
      3. Behavior that is not in line with Freedom Classical Academy's Code of Conduct.
      4. Disrespect to coaches, teammates or officials, either from the player or parent.
      5. Social media posts from player or parent that could be considered as cyber-bullying.

Upon reaching 3 demerits, there will be a meeting with the coach, parents, and a player to discuss the next step and how the player can turn around the season.
When a player reaches 5 demerits they will no longer be on the team, without refund.
